    Exceptional quality prints
The newly designed 20.2 megapixel sensor delivers fantastic, clear results. Even in poor lighting the EOS 7D Mark II delivers photos and movie clips that are packed with detail. The EOS 7d MK II’s AF system can even focus accurately under moonlight.
This outstanding DSLR uses Dual "DIGIC 6" image processors to deliver a truly responsive performance. With the new processor there is very minimal lag time, which means you’ll capture fleeting moments in an instant.

    10fps burst rate shooting
Very popular for fast moving sports and wildlife photography, the camera shoots up to 10 full 20.2 Megapixel resolution images in a single second, recording photographs as JPEG, Raw or both at the same time. The shooting rate can also be customised to suit the pace of the subject being photographed.

    Wide-area autofocus
Maintain pin-sharp focus as you shoot with the EOS 7D Mark II employing 65 focus points to track fast moving subjects. Each focus point is a 'cross-type'** meaning it can lock on to both horizontal and vertical detail vey quickly. To assist shooting in extreme low light conditions, the EOS 7D Mark II can focus even under moonlight conditions where light levels can be as low as -3EV.

    iTR focusing
The EOS 7D Mark II’s advanced iTR AF focusing uses colour and face information to recognise and track subjects as they move within the frame. AF responsiveness can be customised with a simple tool which adjusts the focus tracking according to the shooting environment and subject, allowing the ignoring other objects passing momentarily in front of the focused subject.

    150,000-pixel metering
The EOS 7D Mark II uses accurate exposure metering with a 150,000-pixel sensor to split up the scene into 252 areas. Each one is analysed and the correct exposure settings are either set automatically or recommended by the camera. Infrared light is measured as well as light for in greater accuracy in challenging lighting conditions.

    Full HD
The cameras advanced video functions include Full HD (1080p) capture at variable frame rates up to 50 or 60fps, which are ideal for fast moving action or slow-motion footage that looks silky smooth. To the side of the camera there is a handy HDMI output which allows recording of 1920x1080 footage to external recorders. The headphone and microphone socket allow audio to be captured that is crisp and clear.

    High-performance focus and Live View
When shooting movies there is a fast, smooth autofocus tracking system which when used in Live View includes Dual Pixel CMOS AF technology. Each pixel features two photo diodes that can be read independently during autofocus or together to capture the image. The speed and sensitivity of focus tracking when shooting movies can be adjusted to allow slow pull-focus transitions.

    Flickering light detection
Flickering light, such as that produced by fluorescent lights, can cause inconsistent brightness and colour while shooting. The EOS 7D Mark II can detect conditions such as this and time each shot to coincide with the peak brightness of the flickering source, for consistent results.

    Timer functions
The in-built interval timer allows images to be recorded at pre-programmed time periods which is a great way to record a slowly changing scene or create time-lapse movies. For long-exposure photography, the camera shutter can be locked up in bulb mode for a specified time.

    GPS Built-in
The EOS 7D Mark II has the function to geotag images and movie clips with exact position wherever you are in the world. You can record longitude, latitude, elevation and compass direction as well as coordinated universal time.

    Viewfinder II
Realistic, accurate pictures are viewable thanks to the EOS 7D Mark II’s LCD viewfinder, with approximately 100 per cent viewfinder coverage and 1.0x magnification. The transparent screen overlays focus and shooting information as well as a dual-axis electronic level for straight horizons allowing adjustment while still viewing through the lens.

EARLY DAYS BUT LOOKING GOOD Review by Timbodexter
Not put through paces yet - sport/nature, but sits alongside 5D3 well, as a crop SLR. Got at £200 discount from DigDep. within 3 days. (Posted on 15/01/2015)
Excellent value, superior tracking, silent.... Review by Chas Moonie
At one third of the price of a Canon 1DX the 7D Mark II has to be the best value for money DSLR on the market. Sporting the fastest dual processors -Digic 6- available today, combined with 65 AF points this has to be the ultimate wildlife camera. A 1.6 crop, super silent shutter, 10 fps, 31 raw in one single burst paired with my 300mm f/2.8 Mk II is a dream combination ! (Posted on 02/01/2015)
